Do self-watering planters really work?
Yes – but you have to use them correctly. A “self-watering” container doesn’t actually water itself. It is a clever watering system using planters that contain a reservoir of water at the bottom.
Are self-watering planters good for plants?
Plants like succulents, orchids, cactus and sedum need the soil to dry out completely in between watering. So a self–watering planter will not be a good choice for those types of plants. Most other types of plant will thrive in a self- watering planter.
What are the dimensions?
Our self-watering planter sizes:
35 cm x 35 cm x 48 cm
What plants can I grow?
You can use your Oasesbox® Planter for almost every plant from tomatoes to vegetables and flowers as well as miniature trees. It can be used for mature and young plants as well as seedlings. The reduced frequency of watering is a benefit especially for water-loving plants, but every plant loves the constant water supply.
How long does it take plants to grow?
This will depend on where you place your Oasesbox®. Typically, the growth duration for plants until harvest is not much different than for plants raised in any other pot or raised beds. The difference is that your plants will have a constant and continuous water supply for them to grow and flourish.
What's included?
Depending on your order, you will receive:
1.) an outer unit planter (x 1, 2 or 3)
2.) and a black inner cone (x 1, 2 or 3)

What is capillary action?
Capillary action (sometimes capillarity, capillary motion, capillary effect, or wicking) is the ability of a liquid to flow in narrow spaces without the assistance of, or even in opposition to, external forces like gravity. The effect can be seen in the drawing up of liquids between the hairs of a paint-brush, in a thin tube, in porous materials such as paper and plaster, in some non-porous materials such as sand and liquefied carbon fiber, or in a biological cell. It occurs because of intermolecular forces between the liquid and surrounding solid surfaces. If the diameter of the tube is sufficiently small, then the combination of surface tension (which is caused by cohesion within the liquid) and adhesive forces between the liquid and container wall act to propel the liquid.[1]
